The Corporate Credit Union Network created Charlie Mac in 1998, as a secondary-market investor to help member credit unions manage their interest-rate risk and provide a liquidity outlet while at the same time maintaining membership relations by servicing the loans they sold. Since that time, Charlie Mac purchased over 1.8 billion in jumbo mortgages and auto pools and continues the servicing relationship with credit unions for the loans purchased through its programs.
